For me I'd never use mdf. Too many horror stories that I've heard and have actually seen for myself. I'm just wondering if the ply could be of the same thickness (0.8/9mm) as the ply timbers from the Scale 4 Soc stores or perhaps thickness of the timbers could be a customer option? Just so that the transition from one system to the other wouldn't cause any problems. As for ballasting - I can't see a problem with the webs, most - if not all - will be hidden by rail. Having seen the way Norman Soloman adds his ballasting to track, it certainly won't be a problem. Just my thoughts.

Mike, that’s been suggested before and I’ll gladly supply any sleepers in a different thickness to help.

The Nutshell is England’s smallest pub and it just so happens it’s in my home town of Bury St Edmunds. Unfortunately in these times it is looking likely that it will close as it won’t be able to open under current social distancing rules.

So while it is still a pub I thought I’d make a model. It’s been something I’ve wanted to do for a while. So while putting off some actual work this afternoon I had an idea to make a start.

The real pub.

Wonderful! was the wall sheet done in one piece and the curve the natural development formed by the slots that are similar to a sheet of expanded steel.?

With the bridge finished and some of the kit orders got out of the way, it time to start another commission.

A bit of eastern for a nice charge...so general outline drawings made and a full size card cut out has been done.
