Crossing nose chairs

C&L produced a 7mm cosmetic crossing nose chair in white metal 7NCW (possibly brass as well) but this has now been deleted from their range due to limited sales - with only one set needed for each simple turnout limited sales would be no great surprise. Earlier CPL had made a similar, if not identical, casting identified as a 'GWR Plate Chair, but this has also gone. I have a few castings on my p/w shelf but need to find a new source or carve up other chairs (probably the C&L 4 bolt slide chair) to get on with my next layout. This is a particularly distinctive chair that I like to represent. Has anybody else come up with an answer?

Question - I recall C&L did a w/m 2-part representation of a "slab and bracket" chair, how does this relate to your query?

Julian - I have some of those knocking around somewhere, but didn't realise they were no longer available. I would imagine 3D printing would be a good course of action these days. I've designed (and had printed), a few bits and bobs, but I don't get much spare time at the moment, otherwise I'd have a crack at some for you.

However, there are at least 3 other people on WT with 3D design and print experience, so perhaps one of those might be along soon to offer their services?

Before going down the 3D route, my gash method was to make the slab and bracket chairs by using 40thou plasticard and C & L slide chairs. The top of this chair is lower than the Exactoscale equivalent due the moulds being skimmed to prolong their use. They aren't perfect but no-one has picked up on my slight of hand until this 'fess.

Thanks for the replies. I have now obtained a supply of 7mm GW crossing nose chairs from Shapeways and very good they are. Now no excuse for not starting to cover my 'rolling' ply landscape with p.w. to start looking like Great Malvern station and surround!

Yes I have looked at the camera and started thinking about good photo ideas. I hope to have some pics. as soon as the layout workshop warms up a bit!
