First Db Modeller In 0 Gauge?

I've put a thread with some pictures of my layout on the 'layouts' page (naturally!) but I thought I ought to say hello properly. I model in 0 Gauge and I have diesel hydraulics too but they have never run past Dawlish....my layout is set in Bremen, north Germany. I am a professional model maker trading as Kirtley Model Buildings and as most of my work is of UK prototypes I needed to do something different for my own modelling. I work in 0 Gauge for my own pleasure and in 0, gauge 1 and 16mm scale for work.

I build layouts with my mate John Smith who has three layouts on HO and 0e scales, so between us we cover quite a range and it keeps exhibiting interesting as we rarely take out the same layout for two shows running. The biggest problem is taking the right shirt for the right layout....not to mention the correct stock! All of them are DCC and the beauty of that is that we only need one box with all the control gear in which simply plugs into whichever layout we are running....the same applies to my garden line of course. In fact we both have a box as it pays to have a spare. We use Lenz 100; having operated with most of the alternatives we both think that's the best one.

I've put a post on the Q&A page with some websites that I run including one describing all our layouts.

It sounds as though I'm the first 0 Gauge DB modeller on Western Thunder, but let's hope not the last.
