Hi All,

I'm a new member and have been particularly interested in the Pre-group scene. My particular interest is the G&SWR and I have been steadily building a representative collection of Sou' West locos.

I am particularly keen to find out some more about the G&SWR 0-6-0s which were borrowed by the GWR during the great war. I know of two pictures which feature the locos on the GWR, one taken inside Old Oak Common shed and the other captioned as Didcot. However there are no buildings or other lineside features to confirm location but there is a GWR wagon in the picture. What I would like to know is what duties the GWR used the locos on, locations and if there are any other pictures about? Can anyone help please?

Happy modelling,

Ian

Hello and welcome Ian
Thats a humdinger to start with! I had read something about them but I have not seen any pictures. my guess would be that the GWR used them to cover the sort of duties handled by Dean goods 0-6-0's large numbers of which were requisitioned by the War Department.
I would love to see some more pictures of your stock as well.
