Daft question but aren't those 3 hole wagon wheels? Are they correct for a motorised crane? I ask as it's the wheels that look too big for the bogies,

Mark, The GJH website says you need 3'1" wheels to complete this. Disc wheels would be better but i think they are the right size. What size do you think they should be?

To me, it looks like it is sitting too high on the bogies.

There was a few pics on the MIGO website with using a can motor between 1 wheel set, but it is possible with a gear box drive and the motor mounted underneath the crane body.

any questions?

Both were built with a reinforsed sub-frame to prevent the resin warping.
Have found out today that the bogies pivets on one have sagged:headbang: . Will have to remove and add sone U channel along the edge to keep them straght.

Yeah I remember the one from the MIGO website. It was built by Simon Eccles and like has already been said he used a small can motor with the wheels fitted onto the drive shaft to power it.

mmm dont you just love hydraulics . Not knowing much about modern plant do these cranes work in pairs ?

Getting back to skaboy's model is the underbody recessed i.e. the wheels wont foul the underside if the top of the bogie crossmember pivot moulding is cut down /filed down 4mm ,if you know what i mean . do you have one of those o gauge standards gauges which give the correct buffer beam height . i know a few of my 7mm kit built efforts vary wf
