Hi Steph & Graham,

many thanks for the sympathy, but it's the horse pills that have been prescribed that might give more pain than I am in at present:(. It seems worse this time round than when I last had it in the late 80s.

cheers

Hi Mike, sorry to hear that you are going to miss out, especially from shingles. thankfully it's one that hasn't come my way but a few colleagues have had it. Get well soon and I look forward to seeing you at Telford.

Hi Robs x 2 and Steve,

many thanks for the good wishes.

The pain this time around is far more intense than when I had it in the 80s, it's obviously age related. The rash is also more intense and I've even had sympathetic murmurs from SWMBO:)) obviously aware that it is our 50th anniversary in a couple of months and wants treating to a good nosh of Scouse at the local greasy spoon - will have to keep the cost down though as Telford is only a couple of weeks later:)):)):))

Might get some enthusiasm to tidy the workshop up in a few days time, but till then, I'll try and enjoy the Time Team repeats - again.

cheers

Mike

Great Show as usual for Guild events :)

I spent a very pleasant day with Steve 40126 looking round the show chatting to traders & picking up a few bargains in the form of a Syphon G, Gresley full brake which will get the BR blue treatment for Wythercombes parcel rake .....I also picked up some useful MK1 etches & Hymek bits, plus the usual paints & stuff..........I also picked up one of those useful plasticard scriber thingy's that Simon has been using to great effect on his SR Van build.........so lots of fun in plasticard corner for me with this new toy:D

Had a nice long chat with Steph too & admired the wonderful gearbox & motor bogie he is developing.........very impressive as were the comprehensive fully illustrated instructions:cool::thumbs:.....much better than the usual guessing game us kit bashers are used to:thumbs:

Highlight of the day for me though was spending the morning driving a GBRF class 66 round the test track with 10 MK1's which was powered by a very very impressive radio control system.......a demo model should, all being well be visiting Withercombe soon before I delve in to the wonderful world of non track powered traction ...........can't wait to larf in the face of dirty track!!!!:))

Yes I've been wanting one of that particular diagram of Syphon G too. It's a nicely put together brass kit, but I'm afraid I don't know who manufactured the kit.

This one is a Ian Kirk kit which I suspect was supplied RTR by Ian .

Hi Guy's

Enjoyed the day out at Cleckheaton with Phill, yesterday.

It was nice to meet up with Steph Dale & to listen & see, what he is trying to achieve :)

With just a couple of weeks to my holibobs, I went with a meagre amount of spends :'(, But managed to get a few bits.
3 x 2nd hand Peco points (2 x left & 1 x right) off the bring & buy stall, A packet of GJH Traffic cones, A PLM Cast-A-Way Resin phonebox (to sit on my to- be built Kyle, platform) & another Lima (Caxton) mineral wagon (minus the wheels for £2 !!.
