Glasgow to be more precise. I have decided to return to 7mm modelling after a period of doing other things, prompted by two events. Firstly just over 4 years ago then boss decided we just had to move house, despite just having finished the renovations to the old one. So all the modelling kit was packed away and desposited in the ready made and decently converted playroom (attic), there to be largely forgotten about. The other prompt was the death of a good friend last autumn who had left his models and bits to me. This has all been delivered here and the realisation dawned that I either did something with it all, or got rid of it and took up basket weaving or some such. Fortunately toy trains won. I have rejoined the Guild and also several fora, there is some seriously good work on here. Much inspiration and I'll post some pics of things in due course.
Best wishes to all

Welcome back to 7mm Martin.

I empathise - our house move last year really kyboshed my modelling for months, despite a wonderful new workshop. And it's going to happen again as there are cupboards to rebuild in the guest bedroom......

Welcome Martin

It is not terribly well publicised so here is a little plug for the small O gauge show that will be held in the Walker Halls, Troon on Saturday 22 April 2017. It is almost more of a social event than an exhibition and you will find the Scottish O gauge modellers a friendly lot. As you are in the Glasgow area you may be interested in the Strathclyde O Gauge Group. We meet on Tuesday evenings in premises very adjacent to Central Station. If you would like to come along email me for visiting arrangements.

Regards.

Thanks everyone for the welcome, much appreciated.

I am aware of Troon and Linlithgow, I used to go to both but fell out of the habit. Actually I was a member of Strathclyde O Gauge group for some years, most of the longer standing members know me and will be able to point out the individual whom you should avoid. Actually if I am honest I'm not really a club person, nothing against them and many enjoy the benefits, but just not for me. I have a loose association with the Bo'ness O gauge group, and I'm probably on nodding terms with a good nunber of 7mm modellers in the west of Scotland.

Martin
