Do any Western Thunderers have any information they could share on the allocationof GWR Steam Railmotors - specificalyy Dia O.

I am trying to find the identity of any examples that ran on the lines in Cornwall or were allocated to Bodmin or St Blazey.

I don't have much in the way of reference materials for the GWR, so I would be grateful for any help.

I appreciate a number of books have been published on GWR shed allocatons, but I don't have access to these materials as I model LMS/BR.

Many thanks
Stephen

According to the allocations St Blazey did have a SRM to operate the Lostwithiel - Fowey service. Truro also had one to operate a service between there and Newquay, via Perranporth. No Diagram listed.
If you are interested, and it is Christmas, try to obtain a copy of The Steam Rail Motors of the Great Western Railway by Ken Gibbs. Published by the History Press, my copy cost £16.99.

Truro had no.38 allocated in 1921 according to GWR Locomotive Allocations 1921 by Ian Harrison (WSP)
GWR Steam Railmotors by John Lewis (WSP) gives for 1911 Laira 39, 47, 49, 59 & 60; Truro 61, 90; Helston 96. These are snapshots and there was a lot of movement between sheds. The Plymouth area lost all of its SRM services after summer 1913.

Hi @Graham Bustin - thank you for the recommendation. I am literally after one number for a locally shedded Railmotor.

Splashing out, even at Christmas, on something I will never pick up again is too much of an extravagance.
