Hello again

Hello all

I've been a member on here for some considerable time, but last year I nearly died, so thought I should introduce myself again.

I am from Lincolnshire, my period of interest is British Railways during the steam and diesel period 1950ish through to 1980ish. I sort of ran out of interest when BR was privatised.

Earlier this year my wife drove me to the Doncaster show, which was good but this weekend she took me to GuildEx, really inspired me to get back into modelling, I suffered a brain injury which makes some things difficult, learning the alphabet at 58 was odd, learning to solder again will be interesting.

At GuildEx my wife spoke to many people and she was really pleases how pleasant people are, even though she spoke to them about un-railway related issues. Unfortunately, she also discovered how much I have spent in the past!

So that's a little bit about the new me, it would be so easy to get rid everything I have related to model railway stuff, but as I have been medically retired from work I can devote time to 7mm stuff.

Regards

Dave

Hi again Dave.

I'm so sorry to learn about your travails. I met you at Doncaster and I'm delighted that you want to persevere and continue with this hobby. As you say, it'd be too easy just to sell everything off and go in to a long term hibernation. It's quite touching that your wife clearly recognises the value you attach to the hobby and is so willing to help you on your way. Re-learning the alphabet is a huge challenge so I reckon soldering should hold no fears!

You know that you'll get support and encouragement in barrow loads here so we look forward to learning about your continuing journey.
