Hello from Sydney

I have just joined the group, I modimage.jpg el in O gauge after a long decision to flog off all my OO gear.
Currently building a garden railway and have a 60 ft straight run to a pergola where I am building a through station called West Green.
My passion is GN and GE steam in the late 50s as these are my childhood memories.
West Green was a station on the former GE branch from Seven Sisters to Palace Gates and was only a 10 minute walk from where I grew up in Tottenham.
I have nearly finished this L1 whish was a GE loco number 67721 and was based at Stratford in 59 so would have probably run from North Woolwhich to Palace Gates

Welcome to WT.

That's a lovely looking loco. What's next on the workbench? Don't forget we need regular illustrated progress reports:)

Hi Steve, and welcome at long last!

Sorry I didn't get back to you about stretcher bars, but there is a thread here that Dikitriki has just posted which should help you. Have a look on the 'Recent Threads' page, there's a link at the top of this page.

I'm sure everyone would love to see your layout progress videos too!

Well JB and I am assuming it is John and not Bushell the steam who fires on the Ongar railway.
Well I put together a video of my outdoor train set, I took some this morning and then added some previous you tube clips too I am really having some fun building my railway, and it stops me from simply dwelling on life and getting a bit depressed over it, it like Train meditation, yeah that is it TRAIN MEDITATION

Hi Steve

Great video, there's just something magic about how blokes wangle railways into gardens!

You will have a really good run and I like the spacious layout and gentle curves too. Hope you get that extension in, I plan a little branch line on my garden effort but can't talk about it too much, careless talk etc.....

Beautiful day here in Bath this morning, I think I may have to run a train later on, plus do a bit more work on the line fixing my new track down properly.

Happy days!

Simon

Hi Steve, I just about remember Ivor.. Have you seen there is a 7mm kit available ?

Was the Ongar email a while back? If so yes I saw it, and I hope that I can accommodate you, though I might not be on the footplate, that will be very close to the Missus nearly popping the sprog out, and no I don't mean a DCC chip controller!

When are we going to see the L1 putting some miles in? Might give me the impetus to finish mine off..!!

Jonathon, I painted the L1 but need to line it
The fact is the best impetus is having somecwhere to run your stock so She who wears the pants has been encouaging me. I Will be in London on Saturday 13th September but then fly out on Tuesday 16th so Sun 14th will be the day to travel to Ongar. I am hoping to come back with some Easy Build Mark one kits. Dont k ow if Im going to Tottenham but Bruce Castle museum is there and they may have some good stuff on the Palace Gates branch
