Jinty
Western Thunderer
Hi all,
What a wonderful forum, I joined a couple of weeks ago, but I thought I ought to introduce myself.
I'm from N. Wales, and I was modelling in 4mm 1980's 90's and I had an epiphany after watching a DVD, called "Bewdley to Blaenau" where there is quite a bit of footage of the Brecon & Merthyr area, in particular, Talyllyn Junction, which I fell in love with. A quite busy looking Junction in a sleepy Welsh village, small tank engines with 2 and 3 coach trains, or 0-6-0 tender locos with an extra coach.
I decided to bin the 4mm, and concentrate on Talyllyn Junction in 7mm in the 60's. Some work was involved in making my large garage more habitable for the winter months, so that is currently being undertaken.
The infrastructure is Ex GWR, although the running is both GWR from Merthyr and LMR from Three Cocks Junction, so I'm sure with its predominant operation as WR, it qualifies!!!
I have built a few things in 7mm ready for the layout, a few wagons, a JLTRT 4F, and I've built the main Junction complex from timber sleepers, C&L chairs and C&L rail. Including a tandem 3-way and single slip within the complex.
I will endeavour to put some photographs up and start a workbench thread in due course.
