Good afternoon everybody.
I am Phil and I am a Locoholic and a person that witnessed the demise of Steam in the West Country for a decade, from 1958. Sadly, where I lived in south west Devon, until Autumn 1966, Steam had really died in 1963/64.
I am attempting to model the LSWR/BRSR Seaton Junction, in 4mm OO gauge Code 75, circa 1958 - 1966. A place I never actually visited; nearest spotting was done at Exmouth Junction. However, my love of Bulleid Pacifics and King Arthurs kindled my need for Speed on a main line.
I am familiar with the work of many folk 'over here', exiles/part exiles from 'another' Forum and any rumours of my demise are premature and totally untrue!
My hope is to enjoy looking at, reading about and learning about modelling for fun. pleasure and attaining high standards wherever possible.
I am told that the situation 'over here' is rather like a damn good Library environment, rather than 'another place' that can be a chaotic, Social Media style post Football Pub.
I look forward to being here.
Phil

Welcome Phil,
As others will tell you, the main currency here is (lots of) photos - full size not thumbnails, well worth reading through WT from the beginning as well as there is loads of really good stuff way back.

Hi Phil.
Good to see another respected exile arriving! I'm in the same boat as yourself with regards to "elsewhere" and fully intend to make here my home from now on. Completely different atmosphere here - a sense of tranquility, which is a restful change.

Morning Ben. Finally 'lost it' after yet another bout of thuggery over the Transfer market in the 'other place. Sickening.
Still there but just for my own benefit and my three last of the Summer Wine style pals.

Yet another excuse to procrastinate instead of climbing those magic Stairs to the Loft!
Thanks Rob.

Welcome Phil from another old timer who has been in those 'other places' and left them in disgust. You'll enjoy life here without a doubt.

Sad isn't it. I have seen the downhill slide into too many typical Social Media style mob fests and I hate bullying when the bullied isn't there to fight back. I also must have upset the 'management' some time ago as well. Don't need that sort of rubbish when long retired.
