Hi all. This lost soul found Western Thunder by pure accident, and was really impressed by the forum.
For my sins, I model the GNR (Ireland) in Scale7, albeit very slowly. I have made masters for whitemetal and lost wax brass casting, drawn artwork in AutoCAD for etched carriages and other bits 'n bobs in brass and NS, and have had items rapid prototyped by Shapeways. Like many folk, I have far too many things on the go at once, so seldom seem to finish anything. Oh yes, and the real world - like work - gets in the way. Sound familiar? I look forward to learning a lot from you all, and maybe will be able to post some photos of my (almost finished) work.

Sounds like the opportunity to learn some more stuff about an interesting subject. Love Ireland and know little about the railways.

Welcome!

Likewise - having just returned from a 2 week holiday in Ireland. Without realising the railway link the cottage we rented was only 100yards from Castlegregory station house (Tralee & Dingle line).

I look forward to learning a bit about the GNR.

Welcome, Derek. I would be interested in your experiences with masters for whitemetal and lost wax casting.

Jim.

Welcome, I'm looking forward to seeing some 'proper' Irish modelling with the wheels an appropriate distance apart (allowing for the fact that I work in EM. Yes, I am aware of the contradiction...).
