Thank you.Mike, that looks superb
Kermit the Frog might have something to say about that! With that colour you should perhaps get some ISAAC NEWT(on) plates.....![]()

I've seen the above name mentioned from time to time, but never investigated further. I've just had a look at their website and it looks promising. Thanks for the heads-up.diane carney would probably be able to do the plates
Would it be possible to draw the artwork yourself, reduce it and print on decal film for application to a plain brass plate?Unfortunately Diane Carney not able to do the plates. I tried Narrow Planet as well, but they don't currently have capacity to produce a custom order, which is fair enough.
So, I think I'll have to maybe make some plain plates and hope no-one notices the absence of any lettering.
Mike
In theory it's all possible. But, lacking a computer means I'll probably struggle to do this without it looking a bit naff.Would it be possible to draw the artwork yourself, reduce it and print on decal film for application to a plain brass plate?
Try Dianne Carney , she will make them but she will need details .Had a quiet day in, so an ideal opportunity to do some painting. More of Halfords finest + Tamiya acrylics.
The following pictures show where I am now. Artificial light makes the green look a bit lurid!

This is more how it looks.

Still lots of overspray to tidy up and more coats of acrylic before I'm happy with the finish.
A set of 'Hughes & Co' builders plates would be nice, but understandably no-one appears to do 'em.
Once all the painting is done I'll give it a light weathering just to highlight the detail and hide my more obvious mistakes.

As I mentioned earlier, I've contacted Diane Carney, but unfortunately they're not able to make them.Try Dianne Carney , she will make them but she will need details .
Narrow Planet might be an option - it's worth contacting them.As I mentioned earlier, I've contacted Diane Carney, but unfortunately they're not able to make them.
A fellow Western Thunderer has however been in touch with me to see if he can make them.
Mike
Unfortunately they are also unable to help on this occasion.Narrow Planet might be an option - it's worth contacting them.
That's a shame.Unfortunately they are also unable to help on this occasion.
Mike

Thank you James.That's a shame.
On a more positive note, I've read the whole thread and it's a lovely build![]()
I'm currently repurposing a layout/diorama I made some years ago.I know what the plate looks like, but both manufacturers have said they can't do them (for different reasons).Mike - is the problem finding someone to produce custom plates from artwork that you provide, or finding someone to produce the artwork from a typical Hughes works plate image, or both?
Hi Mike , have you tried Railtec . They make a 3D transfer and i have used them on a couple of locos .I know what the plate looks like, but both manufacturers have said they can't do them (for different reasons).
