I have unpacked mine a couple of times to look at it, but I dare not start it until I have finished about half a dozen other things :laugh:
I see you have managed to get away with having the cab separate, something I couldn't do with the Western.
Anyway its looking good and its on the home straight

Hi, 25 is nearing completion now, cabs abeit finished, yellow ends another coat or two or three :laugh:  :laugh: (railmatch yellow :vista: ) Roof fan painted and fixed into position. Then there's the transfers to apply (fox) followed by a coat of satin varnish then the cab handrails to fabricate/fit and finally glazing (which I hate) then that will be it.....

Ross I have been following this thread with interest as I intend to purchase one of Mr Watermans 25's next who's wheels and motors did you use and do you intend to put any lighting into the loco and if the answer is yes who's will it be. :scratch:

Hmmm I might start mine this time next year :laugh: I got slaters wheels for mine and I will be illuminating the lights with fibre optics as I have been very pleased with the effect on the Western.

Yeah, nearly there just wish it was mine now thats the only down side :cry: although think I'd put one ABC bogie in I really dont like how the bogies "superglue together" I asked I Futers if he wanted me to do anything to allow for any servicing failures/bits wearing out etc but he said to just make it as per instructions etc although I dont envisage any problems you just never know?? It'll not be doing many miles as Ians layouts are only relatively small Scottish layouts and will probably only be hauling a few wagons or a coach or two. Think if it was gonna be thrashed round Phills garden it would have at least wanted some proper gearboxes in rather than the resin bogie etc, Ron Chaplin does a milled one with a delrin sprocket incorporated within it...

Hi Ian, Ive used PRMRP blackened wheelsets and the motors are Buehler twin shafted small can motors with a small flywheel fitted to them Re the lights; think if it was my own I'd definately put some lights in it Im not sure about any systems which are available i'd prob buy some diodes and suitable resistors and LED's and make some simple directional lighting as im not DCC (or anything for that matter yet ) I think a nice touch on this model would be to drill/file out the headcode box and install some lights in there too as at the moment its just a solid lump of resin.. Sorry Ian, I'd loved to have done that but unfortunately this one's for Ian Futers :cry: :cry: Don't worry though because as soon as ive got enough pennies I'll be getting my own might be a 25/3 though and will probably be green too, They are a good kit to build really like how there is very little fettling and they just "go together" but you gets what you pays for in this O gauge kit game :laugh: :laugh: Ross... :wave:

Hi Rob, no I'll not be weathering it (too scared ) Its unfortunately not mine as you have probably gathered.. could take the Allegro to Phills and see if he will weather that for you??? although that would'nt be prototypical as mine as always spotless :scratch: Ross.... :wave:

Scared of weathering big style, maybe Phill could lend me his 3" paint brush :laugh: :laugh: My last attempt was'nt bad, but a certain Class 33 in Green that Phill kindly christened "Fragonset Livery" springs to mind (this model had to be modelstripped and started again :vista: :vista: ) fortunately it was one of my own :scratch: Sadly (Gladly "for me") the evidence of this is on Kodachrome64 slide ictures: so cant post any pic's which saves me any further embarrasment Ross.. :wave: :wave:
