Does anyone know what colour I should be painting my LD&ECR wagons and vans? Tatlow Vol1 Pg 103 states chocolate brown but today I got an email with a drawing showing the wagon as a light grey?

Bit of a long shot but did'nt one of Peter Denny's Wild Swan books have a colour shot?

An article from 1897 in the Locomotive Magazine states light grey with black ironwork and white lettering. I can't imagine this impoverished railway would have had cause to change the livery during their short existence.

April 2002 BRM, in their "Liveries of the Pre-Grouping Railways" series, No 32, covered the LDECR. There is an colour plate of 5 plank no 601 in all-over grey (inc, solebar ) and black running gear, white lettering and number. Also included colour plates of Class C 0-4-4T, and 6 wheel third no, 10.
