Heartening news from Lee.More SR locos seem to be on the "menu"!Hed like potential wants from customers.Personally ( though i know it'll stay a dream)id like a 2-Bil but failing that an N a U or E4 would do VERY nicely indeed.Any more suggestions?..........Brian W

Most definitely a Schools, Lemaitre chimney. I've already had this conversation with Lee, hopefully he will be more receptive this time.

a Wainwright H 0-4-4t would be nice, variations with/without Pull/Push, straight/flared bunkers to name but a few.

Hi Martin /Mike i also spoke to Lee a while ago about a Schools build i thought it might have more punter interest than a Lord Nelson. The D class Lee showed at Reading is a fine piece of work and painted the complexity of the livery will be a thing to admire.....But unless its wearing a British Railways coat for me it won't "float the nostalgia boat"...........Respects etc etc

31734 or 31737 in BR lined black & alongside the coaling stage at Tonbridge mid 50s - SR heaven. It would need a good win on the Lotto to buy one of Lee's Wainwright Ds and have Warren repaint it to suit!:eek::eek::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Lee asked me to set up the sound and give the Wainwright D a run on Newhurst. There will be some more changes to make to the sound but here it is in action. I have been bending his ear on other Southern projects so send in your suggestions to him.

The painted sample is coming along nicely too
SECR Painted sample

If you have a wish for something Southern then do get in touch directly with Lee Marsh.

I am amassing a fleet for the outing of DCC sound locos, but am maybe a little light on the middle size of loco, it is going in 1960s era.
Air smoothed BofB, Rebuilt WC, Unrebuilt/Rebuilt MN covererd well along with M7, 33s, Terriers etc so anything else that is DCC sound fitted is welcome to come and visit for a run.

Cliff----Re your neighbourly invite I've got a MOK standard4 tank 80016 built by Mr Geary/weathered by Mr Welch and a Q1 (same pedigree) Realisticly ill never have a layout of my own (xept in my head) so id enjoy watching them in action on someone elses......sometime. ...........................Regards etc

I can't help but think that some workaday Southern locos of the 2-6-0 or 4-4-0 would be useful on many layouts. The Ns and T9s were long lived and well travelled.

Chris...talking of long lived/well travelled SR locos i was surprised to see photos of E4s at Exeter. As these posts are Southern oriented its an opportunity to ask if you've glazed your Maunsel coach yet. Always enjoy seeing your layouts progress too.................B etc etc

Lee allowed me a very close look at this loco at Bristol - It is truly magnificent. I was intrigued by the orange safety valve lever and the orange sand pipes - I was too embarrassed to ask whether these were prototypical or just temporary plastic place holders pending the definitive castings!
The lining is spectacular.

There is some contradiction here, your photo of 737 at York shows the safety valve easing lever to be unpainted and the sandpipes red, as it is I feel, without evidentiary backup, that Lee rather than the NRM has it right. Having said that I think the shade of red on Lee's model sandpipes is wrong, as is also apparently the green on the tender vacuum pipe on your model. Deuced difficult stuff this colour lark, perhaps black and white is best.
