This is not even slightly tedious!Here is the splashers in it's raw state, I'll show another when it's been filed to shape.its just made out of bits of scrap I hope this isn't too tedious.

Hi Ian I think that the slotted splashers would have been beyond my skill level.As for the painting,if I can make a good enough job of it I'm hoping to get Warren Hayward to paint it. ( He says hopefully)I see you are opting for the closed splasher version. Very wise as cutting fan slots is a pain to say nothing of the lining!

ExcellentNothing wrong with basic tools. It is the person wielding them that makes them work.
A long while ago I built my first model loco with only a few old files, junior hacksaw, Stanley hand drill with a few drill bits, copper soldering bit heated in the fire and Mothers dressmaking scissors. The later got me into trouble as they weren’t much good after I used them to cut up tinplate from a cocoa tin.
