Me too just read the entire thread!
Mighty fine, liking the fiddle stick as it’s something I’m envisioning for my forthcoming reinvented layout Meldon.

Thank you so much. Very kind of you. I don't appear to have mentioned that I retrospectively added an isolated section at the far end of the fiddle-stick, just long enough to hold one loco. Small additions like this certainly add to the versatility of such a small layout.

London Road Sidings will be appearing this coming weekend (25th & 26th January) at Thamesmead Model Railway Exhibition, Harris Garrard Acadamy, Yarnton Way, Thamesmead, Erith, Kent, DA18 4DW. If you are visiting please stop by to say hello. Apparently we will be situated in the East Atrium. Sounds very posh!

London Road Sidings performed well over the whole weekend. My oppo, Matt, and I had some interesting conversations with visitors who wanted to know various details about the construction. The hand-held controller was handed to anyone who fancied a go. Matt proved to be a far better shunter than I, and appeared to know more about the layout than me! A number of people said that they felt inspired to have a go at building something similar themselves, which was quite gratifying to hear. Expect to see a flurry of London Road Sidings appearing any time soon! Two more exhibition invites were forthcoming, and at least one video was taken for inclusion in a Youtube feature about the exhibition.

Link to Erith (Thamesmead) Model Railway Show. London Road SIdings appears at 9.16 minutes in.

The three 08 shunters used on the layout have now been furnished with drivers. This chap is from Modelu who, unfortunately, had both legs amputated, as Bachmann 08's have a false floor which fills most of the lower cab to just below the windows.

The wagon fleet was recently enlarged to include the following vehicles:

Bachmann Lowfit with interior repainted and brush weathered with acrylic paint. The folded wagon sheet is part of a Smith's product.

Bachmann 5-plank wagon, brush weathered and covered with a Smith's BR wagon sheet. Thread used for the ropes, although they can't be seen in this view. I couldn't resist the puddle!

Bachmann again. Weathered with a brush and acrylics. Interiors repainted.

Dapol tank weathered by the manufacturer. I simply added the spillage in acrylic and fitted Bachmann couplings.

London Road Sidings is appearing at the Tenterden Exhibition this coming weekend. If you are attending please stop by and say hello.
