I have been tasked by the group leader to have connectable electric connectors between the two coaches and loco.

I found some very strong magnets in the drawer but the fret saw blade didn't touch them they're so hard. Does anyone know of a source of strong rubberised magnets akin to something that you would find on a fridge magnet?

Some fridge decorations are all ready rubberised and flexible being bonded with the magnetic compound, simply put, a magnetic rubber mat. Cut one of them up with a pair of scissors, not as strong as your other magnets but could well be strong enough to hold two model hoses together.

Never mind that - how do they remove the stock from the shelves without pulling the entire shelving system over? Do the staff have to remove all metal objects before entering the store?

These would be the ideal magnets to use. You don't really want anything stronger as you'll end up pulling the detail off when uncoupling or separating the set .

Thanks all, I was thinking the rubberised magnet might be better as then I can carve the electrical connector from a block, rather than having to scratch an enclosure. However the micro magnets to look very useful..

A significant event on Wednesday. The two traversers were finally connected to the main boards and the first train ran through the station from one end to the other. This marks a significant step after years of work by various Lovelies. All that remains (ha!) is the final detailing of the station and its environs which is very much work in hand. It then behoves the group to set up and practice the operations to be followed when the model is on display. Hopefully Mr B can put some pictures on here of the final set up.

T- 8 days! Where has all that time gone?!

Well the body of the Drive trailer is finished with only the very nice Laurie Griffin door stops to fit to the trailer coach. I was in two minds wether to go to the trouble of the door stops but well worth it I think.
