To be honest, I thought you'd be impressed enough with me using the word 'finish' in a post. It IS a first... ;)

O' course it's a 'no':D - that's kinda why Mick's building one. Added to which mine would be very boring and plain black rather than green and pretty.

Yep, see you at Telford :)

Almost finished now...... Warren has done a great job turning this around quickly for display on the stand at Telford. I've been frantically adding the bits following painting and apart from the gauges in the cab and the spectacle glass i'm about there. I've managed a few photo's this afternoon and tried posing on a length of track, it doesn't really work properly as the track is from the bench and not a proper staged 'embankment' but it does look nice 'on the road'

This was my first ever Finney Kit and what a thoroughly enjoyable experience it was. I had a great time building it and although the LSWR is not really my area of interest and the loco is a little too clean and shiny, I'm over the moon with how it's turned out

Thanks for the kind comments everyone and thank to Warren again as I know he's had a lot on his plate. This livery cannot be a straight forward one to apply. I look forward to my next Finney build, I wonder what it will be???

Mick,

That is absolutely stunning. Congratulations to both, you on the build and Mr H on the paint job. I am looking forward to seeing your finished G5 and seeing Mr H's rendition of NER green.

I suppose from now on you will be mainly building Finney7 stuff; well, you will get the kits at 'trade' won't you :))

Thanks Peter,

Warren has done a great job on the paint but unfortunately for you there will be no NER green on the G5. Only BR mixed traffic lined black :D There are no other Finney builds on the horizon, but at some point I'm hoping to get my hands on a V2. Right now though i'm back on the J72 you'll be glad to know,

Mick
