John and Dave - thanks for your kind comments, and thanks also Richard, for the additional info on '30's crew uniforms - interesting mix of clothes from home there too.

Dave, I think you're so right about the more natural (non action) poses looking better for figures. Action poses almost seem to highlight the fact that there really isn't any action happening at all don't they ??

I really like the Heroes of the Footplate range because they seem to achieve this natural/casual look so well. In the future, I'd like to experiment by subtly changing some of the poses further. For example, the two seated drivers above, might look even more natural if their heads were turned slightly to one side, rather than that typical 'straight ahead' look ??

Cheers

It's a shame the figures are not similar to some military figure kits where they have separate heads to allow you to position them differently. Some already have separate arms so why not heads?

'Action poses' would only be suitable if you were modelling Pompeii AD79 :).

Thanks John
I've just looked at their range again, and I see what you've done now - they're seated passengers.
What a brilliant idea, and just right for the pre-grouping period of your loco !!
Nice one
Cheers
