Morning All

Having had my wrist slapped elsewhere, I'm here to say a quick hello.

"Hello"

That was easy wasn't it?:)

I'm Rob (another one), started 'proper' modelling back in the 70's in EM and seem to have had a go at most scale/gauge combinations in the meantime.
Currently working in 7mm but still undecided as to S7 or not. I have a growing interest in 19th century railways, the GER being the main focus but there is a long term research project for a Broad Gauge layout in the (very distant) future.
GER circa 1870-75 is the plan, either a rural Essex location - simple through station, possibly roundy roundy, or an East End teminus, depends whether I can create a design that "feels right".

Thats all for now.
Need to walk dogs and then sort an avatar and photograph a few shelf queens.

I've too much invested in the 1890s to consider backdating to the 1870s, but it's an attractive proposition with the new Johnson locos mixing with those of ECR vintage. By Broad Gauge I suppose you mean 7' 0¼", and not 5' 0" - but that would be a big step backwards in time, even for you.

Of course rural Essex met the East End on the Walthamstow branch - Hoe Street 1871.

As suggested by Adrian, you could embrace broad gauge in the East End of London and follow the fortunes of the Eastern Counties Railway - well known for confusing all and sundry with their track gauge.

On the other hand, GER in S7 circa 1890 might just label you as another BF trouble maker.

Looks like the Blue brigade is going to have to get itself sorted... otherwise Blue will come to mean Ultramarine as used on small bucks and large A4s.

regards, Graham

Uploading your shelf queen photos should keep Cheshire's broadband busy for a few months! Welcome to WT.
Look forward to the pics of your 7/8inch:foot slab wagon, the wheels were fun to draw. Puts an end to discussions about what gauge to use when the wheels can move along the axles!slab-wagon-wheels.jpg
Not used (much?) by the GER, just another of Rob's scatter gun projects.

This mornings flower was fitting a new power jack to No1 sons laptop. Another 2 hours of my life wasted on non-modelling stuff.
And he's just pinched the car!!

Broad Gauge 7' and a gnats wotsit, circa 1855, a nice little North Devon terminus populated by some engines once owned by Derby and soon to be owned by Waterloo.
Big Brown Railway doesn't get a look in.
Lots more work to be done in the LRO's in Exeter and Barnstaple before then though.

Thanks for all the welcome messages.
The banter is similar on here to a couple of other fora I'm a member of (SE Lounge and gNatterbox) just a bit more wicked!!
