Hi Alan,
Nice job   I have always liked 76's although they were always in br blue when i saw them. It brings back memories of trips to Reddish and Guide Bridge

Very nice. Class 76's were one Class (among several!) that I never saw for real.

Can you tell us a bit more about the model ? Is it a kit, and is "MSL" the producer? Can't say as I've heard of them? I'm also assuming it's O scale, or larger...

must admit have to agree BR blue and filthy in multipull at the head of a long coal train SWEET I just wish I could justify running such a beauty, Broke my will to bash when the line shut and all the loco's I had seen working hard went

Have to admit a real soft spot for these. My father and I used to make regular trips from my grandparents in Sheffield over to Rotherwood and Tinsley towards the end of the Woodhead era and there'd always be a few stabled there at the weekends. I think JLTRT have some rights over these kits and I'm pretty sure you can buy them from them now. They seem to make up into a nice model - looks great, Alan  I never saw them as clean as Stentor is here though!

Here's the last shot I took of the real thing at Rotherwood......

MSL EM1 STENTOR + PERSEUS in 7mm

Hi all,

Thanks for your replies, now finished Perseus, see attached images of that. They were built for a friend and I used some of Pete Besant's diesel loco chassis which I modified with stretchers to make them more robust. Yes the MSL kits have now been bought by JLTRT but I dont think they are available yet.

Next I am on more familiar ground with a pair of RJH Cl.47 kits which have been lurking in a cupboard for seven years or more. Both to be two tone green and numbered D1922 and D1924 as used on the Southern Region in 1966 - watch this space!!

Cheers

Al

Those RJH 47's look good - a lot better than I'd been led to believe RJH kits usually are... ;)
