I now realise after watching the video that Nick has asbestos fingers and survives on speed .:rolleyes:
Great work Nick , it took me a while to work out how the solder was being applied . What temperature rated solder do you use for general work ?

Hi Rob, I'm sorry I deleted all the footage I made as it used so much storage (there was about 60 hours of it!) I have planned to film one of my builds in the near future though for the next GOG Virtual Show.

I use a ERSA i-con1 solder station and the tip maintains a constant temperature unless you have many thicknesses of brass, I use 90, 145 or 180 solder for building. 145 mainly with 180 for more structural work. 90 deg solder is good for using as a filler as well as round whitemetal castings. I suppose it's a bit like lead loading on car bodywork.
