Fascinating, thanks Rob.

I spent a while looking at the several pages of drawings available in various licensed formats, wondering if my best option out of it all was going to be a track plan of Norwich Thorpe Station printed onto a large coffee mug  , when I finally found the route (not that obvious) through to the real paydirt -

http://www.networkrail.co.uk/virtualarchive/

Now that will take a bit of wading through!

EDIT: THERE IS NOT AS MUCH HERE AS I THOUGHT, BUT AT LEAST ONE IS ABLE TO MAKE REQUESTS FOR INFO WHICH IF AVAILABLE WILL THEN BE MADE AVAILABLE ON THE MAIN SITE. SO I GUESS THE MORE IT IS USED THE GREATER IT WILL GROW.

From my short time with a BR regional division in the late 70s I was aware that there existed at the time a wonderful resource (at least at local level) of very old plans and drawings - looks like someone had the foresight to save a fair bit of it.

Not getting on very well with this: on the mediastore site one can find - under Stations - a track plan of Norwich Thorpe Station entitled 'The Rly Executive E.Regn. Norwich Thorpe - Station Survey'.

Try finding that on Railtrack's archive site from which the images available through the mediastore originate......... Or am I being particularly dense today?
