Hello all,
New to this forum today, I have escaped fom a couple of others. My modelling interests are 0gauge fine scale, set in the early BR period mid 1950's to mid 1960's, just on the change from steam to diesel, I am mainly a small kettle fan. The area is Lincolnshire so mainly ex LNER with a bit of ex LMS thrown in for good measure. My modelling is mainly kits, either white metal or brass, don't like plastic they melt when I go near them with the soldering iron:eek:, I scratchbuild sometimes but not very often. Haven't got a proper layout yet but keep trying to get started amid all the other jobs. When it is eventually started it will be Spilsby, this was closed for passengers in 1939 and closed completely in 1958, there is nothing left now other than the goods shed (see disused_stations). My aim is to replicate the station etc, but as it might have been up to the end of steam, if I can afford them there may be a railcar or two.

GREEN, GREEN, GREEN, did he say
GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well I never, you can still model a good layout in GREEN but don forget it's classed as aBLUE loco even if it has a blue tops background or even a BLUE door. Welcome to the mad house my friend and even though your air brush has a colour blind spot :)) :)) :)) enjoy yourself ;) ;)

I think there is a conspiracy going on just cos we BLUE boys beat the others in the poll they are doubling up there memberships to win, Devilishly clever, BUT you have been rumbled ::) ::) ::)

Hi Alan and welcome,

don't suppose you're a 'Poachers' regular are you?

Hi Mark,
Yes, guilty, went this afternoon and had a good time talked a lot, and picked a good tip up. Making brass van roofing looking as though it has been felted. Stick some masking tape on it and it looks the part.

I'm starting to think that it was me you spoke to when you were sat talking to Michelle? Oh dear, I've just diluted the Blue brigade :headbang: budge up Jordan, I can see a spare seat at the back of the class  :'(

Hi Mick,
I've just started back modelling after a long break away from it, had some years doing family history (it gets very involved and time consuming, as much as modelling does), I am sorry there are no photo's of loco's as I haven't finished any yet. Got a connoisseur jinty on the go, about 1/2 done, a connoisseur 4F in the "to do" drawer and in the planning stage of scratchbuilding an LNER C12. Most of my modelling has been wagons. Got some finished and ready for painting when I get round to it. Also I've got 4 Lima coaches that I'm in the process of modifying, 2 with Mk1 bogies and 2 with commonwealth bogies. They are going to be a BSK, SO, SK, and CK. Got loads on the go but don't seem to finish anything off. Must get my finger out!

Hi one and all,
Being a new member and not wishing to annoy anyone (yet), but, does all this talk about blue mean every one models LNER and paints GARTER BLUE.

You'll fit in just fine.

Jim G may argue for Caley Blue, and I'll go for BR post war steam blue, but as long as you can sqeeze something blue in, the Chief Inspector won't be on your case ;D

Probably..  no..  the forum rules (changed daily and when required by a discussion) are such that a Gresley A4 in Experimental Blue (aka Buckjumper Blue) does not count.

Welcome!  regards, Graham

To ensure Marsa's attendance, make sure it's a big barrel, with beer in it....  ;)
