Dear Fellow Westerners

Does anybody know the measurement of the wheel back-to-back gauge supplied by the Scalefour Society?

I’ve noticed that DCC Concepts have one in their range set at 17.75 mm.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Jonte

Hi

Mines 17.7mm (actually 17.69mm), compared to an S4 back to back guage given to me by Ray Hammond which is 17.84mm.

Hope that helps

PS: The leaflet in the box of the P4 gauge states BB max: 17.75 17.67 min

Yes it does, Richard, so many thanks.

Looks like both gauges are within the set limits.

Many thanks also for your prompt reply.

Best wishes,

Jonte

If you obtain the GW Models back-to-back gauge, you can set it to whatever you want, within limits. I seem to remember that there was recently a discussion in S4 News about the best b-to-b measurement, so might be worth a look.

Kind of you to give me the heads-up VM. Thank you.

I’ll take a look.

I have a GW wheel-puller somewhere or other still in its unopened packet. Mind you, it’ll come in handy at some stage ;)

Which reminds me, I need to order his quartering tool!

Best wishes,

Jonte
