Firstly, let me introduce myself as a new member (well 10 days ago) but this is my first post.
I have seen many names and handles on here of people I know, particularly those in the S7 area, but others as well and he knows who he is!!
For my sins, I am currently secretary of the S7 Group (that gives the game away) and I do have a small and rather sick (at the moment) S7 layout which has been seen occasionally on the exhibition circuit. The layout is set for the period 1945 - 1955 but because I like green diesels/DMUs that date has an element of stretch to it. The reason for that period is that it will allow me some well worn pre nationalisation stock (weathering, now that is a black art for me) plus an SR or GWR loco or two as well as early period BR liveries which I particularly like.
Enough about me and to the reason for the thread. I am hoping someone can point me in the direction of transfers for WWII liveried Class A petroleum tanks. These were painted dark grey (non specific in Mr Tourret's book) which allows some latitude but they also had some small signs on them eg Yellow backed CC lettering, solebar lettering which indicated owning company and vehicle no, plus long winded information about where to report faults to.
As this is a fairly obscure request an example of what I want to do is shown on Plate 260, page 117 in "Petroleum Rail Tank Wagons of Britain" if anyone has the book.
