James Spooner
Western Thunderer
I have resolved to finally build an 009 model based on Beddgelert that my eldest son and I had been muttering about for several years and for which I had been gathering equipment, track etc during that time. The fact that it is Advent Sunday and many of the family will be back for Christmas spurred me into action. The hope is that, over the next three weeks, I will get to a place where baseboards are built, track laid (possibly ballasted) and wired up so trains can run…. Scenery and buildings can then be added by my son at his leisure. So the last day has been spent digging out as much information on Beddgelert between 1923 and 1936 as I can, pulling together all the bits and pieces I had gathered over the years and then doodling big time on some lining paper. I reckon I can get a decent representation of the station on two baseboards four foot by eighteen inches, although fiddle yards will need to be added on to the ends. Time to get the jigsaw out and start cutting!
