I didn't vote for a couple of reasons, a; I don't know who most of the candidates are so cannot make an across the board reasoned decision and b; I abhor door stop canvassing, I'm big enough and ugly enough to make my own decisions if and when I choose and do not need PMs from candidates asking for my vote, I don't do it for the ones that 'allegedly' run the country so I am not going to do it for a small society.
One point to consider, you could argue that those proxy votes are in effect rigging the result, some candidates do not have access to this site or other PC based social media's and are thus at a loss, basically the person with the highest social profile many not be the best person for the position. I'll concede that PC social media is the future but it should not be a method by which important decisions can be swayed.
I'm sure the above will ruffle some feathers, but the whole episode made me cross, I vote for candidates on merit, not on their door stop canvassing and I'm uncomfortable with the proxy vote system the S7 society has just used, it's quite frankly wide open to abuse and rewards the candidate who can get the most of his mates (old boys school politics) to vote for him.
As noted above I would not have voted for anyone anyway and best of luck to those who succeeded but I have worrying knot in my gut that the voting system used was fundamentally flawed.
I am now questioning access of the PM system here and more worryingly my recent S7 club membership.
I hope the above is not removed as 'inappropriate content' as I strongly feel a flaw in the system has been overlooked.
Finally, no more PM canvassing please, it will not help your cause.
