The announcement of the GCR/LNER A5 4-6-2T took me by surprise this week. They got around a bit after Gresley adopted them as a standard class after 1923 and built more.
I only ever saw one in Manchester Central, although at the time I admit I considered it a strange looking beast when compared with the big 2-6-4T's I was used to seeing on the LM Region.
Having seen a photo of one on shed at Oswestry, I am sorely tempted...
