Been there, done that... ...admittedly, not quite as extreme, but I believe track like that is known on this Forum as "Jordan Track"

Although as Photobucket decided last night to suspend image hosting unless you pay an enormous fee per year, for now I can't post a pic of my trackwork.

Can you or someone else explain why you can't upload an image directly to this forum? Hosting services mean that you can link from several forums to a single photo repository but when that falls over, as other hosting services have done, every photo is lost. If you reorganise your albums, every single link on every single forum is broken - a complete PITA!

Probably because it was an easier option - it just downloaded a photo to your required size automatically, & provided a link that could be used across several Forums.
Resizing a photo & loading up to each Forum individually was more of a PITA, to be honest, but of course, in hindsight...

I've never downloaded from anything other than my own files on a laptop. It's so easy to resize using Photoshop that I'd never considered doing anything else. However, as I probably wouldn't understand how to do anything else I guess that's not too surprising.......

For security I also have all my photos on Dropbox too.

Fotopic anyone? Like Brian, my photos are resized and uploaded directly and everything is backed up securely elsewhere. Apologies to Ken for the thread drift!

One word; Flickr

Get an account, it's free.
Upload your photos.
Click the share button.
Select BBCode.
Select the size of image you wish to share from the drop down menu.
Copy the text and past into the forum thus.

Flickr does all the resizing work for you and also gives a link so that readers can go and look at the full size image, or others you might have not linked to.

It does run the risk of falling over like any other image hosting site, but I've been with Flickr for nine years. I'm one of the ones still paying for a pro account which are no longer available which I think have one or two other stats and tracking functions. Even then it's not expensive, £25 or something a year and Flickr has seen a lot of other similar photo sites come and go.

I personally upload from my PC and resize to suit, but if you want a quick, free and easy option from an online source then Flickr fits the bill. Especially if you're linking photos across several sites, some of which may not have the image hosting facilities that WT has.

At some point just before 4min 20sec the locos seem to have been re-engined with GM 2 Stroke units - don't they sound good!
