I notice you didn't show it with the God-awful N gauge chassis you're putting under that exquisite body

Now hush Richard, I thought we weren't going to mention that bit...I've got another trophy, hurrah, and I've learnt how to silver solder. This Western Thunder is a wonder to behold!

It's to 5"/1ft scale to suit the figures and runs on O gauge track so I suppose it's technically some sort of narrow gauge vehicle!

Ah, yes, now you mention it...that should be 5" to the 6ft, depending on how tall William Hartnell actually was, which makes the scale urrmm, err...

Nice to see LTSR locos .

Here are two photos from my Grandfather's collection. He used to commute from Leigh-on-Sea to Fenchurch Street where he attended the City Of London School for Boys. These are poor quality as I've scanned these from fading contact prints. The 4-4-2 no. 2153 is taken at Fenchurch Street and the 4-6-4 no. 2102 somewhere along the line.

The shot of the 4-6-4t looks like it could be somewhere between Southend Central and Westcliff.

Thanks for posting these Dave, I have a keen interest in the L.T.&S.R. I have a nice coloured G.A. of a 4-4-2t awaiting a future scratch build

I have just come across some more of my Grandfather's photos. LTSR 4-4-2 either no.2158 or 2168 at Shoeburyness, MR 2-4-0 no 110 and 0-6-0 no. 3808 or 3809 at Southend and a GER 4-4-0 no 1799 at Southend Victoria. The 1799 is in large numerals on the tender. I'll scan these post these if you're interested.

Dave that would be great, might be best to start a new thread for the LTSR.
Photo's like these are invaluable as they not only show the main subject but also the surrounding infrastructure at the time.
