Hi all
Following a conversation with a visitor at Telford 2015 regarding difficulties with the SPROG decoder programmer and Windows 10 I thought it was about time I tested it on my laptop which upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
I have an early version of SPROG II and not SPROG II version 3 or SPROG 3.
Firstly I downloaded the Sprog II (early) Windows 7 FTDI drivers from the links in the Sprog web site, saved this on my desktop and extracted the files there. Makes them easy to find when you have to browse for them during set up.
I did look around the SPROG users group and other websites for layman's
rather than geeks 
instructions. In the end I followed these instructions from the US website below on how to disable 'Disable Driver Signature Enforcement' and subsequent install.

After 'Disable Driver Signature Enforcement' I installed the drivers, again using the instructions above.
As I hadn't updated my version of JMRI for a while I downloaded the latest production version (4) and installed this.
Once installed I open up Decoder Pro and tested it successfully with a loco.
Whilst updating SPROG II I also took the opportunity to update my ESU Lokprogrammer.
Again, I downloaded the latest FDTI drivers from the ESU website and installed these. I opened Lokprogrammer 2 (which I still use for their v3.5 decoders), tested a loco and all was in order. I updated my Lokprogrammer 4 to the latest version and all was in order.
Finally I tested my Quantum QSI programmer and this also worked. No downloading required for this.
