We exhibited at the show last year and unfortunately at times the exhibitors outnumbered the punters. I hope the local advertising is better this year and they get more through the door.

Mind you it didn't help that the school was also hosting some sort of football tournament and they took all the parking. Not much the club could do about that.

Good to see the Stafford club's Thomas layout still going strong. We built that many moons ago as a testbed for using very thin plywood for the boards. It proved a point and has hopefully entertained loads of kids (and adults) in the intervening years. Somebody please get a photo of Tony Wright driving it!

That robust, structurally sound baseboards could be built out of braced thin ply contrary to the wisdom of the day which was heavy duty materials should be used. It did attract a fair bit of comment during construction from the wise old sages that the approach was foolish and would never last.
