Hi all.
Phil Bartlett here. I would have used "Phil" (as on RMweb) but it is only four letters !!!
Started on BR straight from school and celebrate 34 years loyal service to Britains railway system this year. My dad started Finisters Models back in 1961ish in Coventry but moved to Wales in 1971. You might deduce that he was a railway nut, and it rubbed off on me.
My interest was in Austrian and European railways in the 1990s and early oughties, but my passion returned to British Railways, specifically railways in the Black Country and South Staffs in the 1960s and 1970s. I was initially bowled over by Digital sound in diesels, but realised that steam sounds were very much more complex and not really viable for my personal requirements, so am taking a breather on digi sound.
My loft project is based on Sedgeley Jn on the South Staffs from 1960, but it is very very restricted to a space 12'x12' so is basically a two track roundy roundy with a 9 road traverser . Some of the woodwork has been erected, but the project has been put on hold until my book about Bescot is finished - hopefully by this Christmas.
So that is me in a nutshell
