7mm Pencarrow - Cornish BR(S)

Just come to fit the whistle shield. 4666 needs the tall one which is higher than the cab roof.


The taller of the two in the accessory pack appears to be quite a bit too short.

Any ideas on the source of a suitably long replacement folks?

Yes, the 3d printed ones produced specially for it. Really should paint them at some stage.

Yes, me and WR locos obviously don't get along...

I may have a look though in the 1366 bits collection to see if anything is suitable.

I know, I know... Just need to find a decent shot of one so I know what said bendy thing should look like.

Should the base of the shield sit on the firebox or should there be a gap??

Thanks for the photo, confirms what I though I could see in the photos I've found. The shield doesn't go down to the firebox. Also confirms the Minerva one is the wrong shape and length.

Looks like a tricky blighter to fix securely in model form, especially as the top stands proud of but doesn't touch the cab roof.

Ashpan fabracated, fitted and first coat of paint applied...

Must stop looking at photos of the real 4666, I keep spotting things to add or tweak. Pull back from the rabbit hole...

maybe you've discounted them already but if you haven't seen them Modelu do a variety of Whistle shields plus mounting bracket / whistles too ..Might the longest one be of use ?...............................Respects etc BW

I wasn't, but am now - thanks. Always interesting to see what random products get added between visits. Will ask what the dimensions are.
