Il be watching this with interest, the jltrt 08 looks superb and I wouldn't mind having a go at one.
A cl. 14 is more pressing! If only Heljan would get their finger out. Although Hull had 03's, they seem quite camera shy and tended to be used either at Paragon station on pilot duties or other minor shunting - don't think they were used on trip freights which is what Millicent Street will see. Unless of course, anyone can say otherwise....
Interesting, they must have found some work on the docks, since BG had nearly half a dozen.
Never saw any at Goole, there was always a Goole allocated 08 there.
I'm talking 1972 on.....
The time before that was L&Y "pugs" we were chasing...and being chased by an irate foreman, since someone had set a diesel on fire........
Subject to confirmation the notion of acquiring an 03 has been dropped in favour of another steam loco but what else survived, working, to the very end of steam in Hull?
Sad photo.A quick look at the Dairycoates allocation. The last tank engines Class J72, J94 and V3 departed 1963, by the time of the layout (1966/67) the only steam left at Dairycoates was a LMS 4MT, B1 and WD engines. The 4MT went in 1966, the other classes reamained until the dimise of steam. Attached a photograph of the last steam engine off Dairycoates shed 10 June 1967.
