BRITISH RAILWAYS - before Nationalisation

I have a few old issues of The Railway Magazine which contain advertisements which I find intriguing. The main item which caught my eye was the use of 'BRITISH RAILWAYS' branding in the illustrations more than a decade before the formation of British Railways on Nationalisation.

The earliest example I have is the May 1937 edition with a useful advertisement explaining how to use containers. Were any containers actually labelled 'BRITISH RAILWAYS' at the time as shown in the drawing? I suspect not but it could be an interesting variation.

And another one from June 1941 (selected for Mickoo) -

Interesting that the four grouped railways don't get a mention by name in this wartime advertisement.

It would seem from the advertisements that the public were used to the term British Railways long before Nationalisation, but was the name ever applied to containers or anything other than printed material?
