As last year I have been posting photographs of layouts here with track plans here. You may spot a couple of layouts which have a presence on WT.... there is a rumour that some operators of a 7mm layout might be requried to wear "L-plates".

Details of the exhibition, location, times, prices are here. There will be a FREE heritage bus service between the railway station and the exhibition venue.

In response to feedback for the show in 2011 we have produced a 32 page, A5 booklet for the 2012 show. The guide is FREE although donations will not be refused. If anyone wishes to have a copy of the guide before the show then send a request to me and I shall try to forward a digital copy.

All WT are welcome, please come and say hello - no doubt I shall be wearing my usual red-hat.

Without meaning to sound to picky :rolleyes:, can you tell me how many 7mm layouts will be there ;).

That might be considered as being picky... so a suitable answer is "same as last year".

Oh all right, I shall be helpful for once.

Invergeachy - Scot Rail;
Weydon Road - BR with WR/SR steam;
Wadebridge - 1860s period, not yet LSWR.

I have posted photos, track plans and, now, a floor plan "over there".

You could take the Heritage bus.... however, being "heritage" the service might be a tad slow - best to use a passing NASA cast-off.

Just back from Basingstoke, Wadebridge ready to be put away until SWAG event in Taunton in April.

Great weekend - met a lot of people, and was in the Saturday night quiz winning team. Dog Star was the question master and exhibited a peculiar penchant for creating cryptic clues out of underground station names! His 'L' plate remains unused. We'll get you next time Graham.

It was my first two day event with the layout - and boy did I learn a lot. :eek: What with a failed solder joint, luckily at 15:15 on the last day - got it working again by 15:30 though and ran through to the end at 16:00, and dodgy pick-ups on the 'main' loco. :D

Lots of cards given out so we might soon be appearing at an exhibition near you ..... ;)

Thank you Phil.... I did wonder if some of the questions were too difficult (and more suitable for WT given
the propensity of WT readers for pedantry and obscurity).

I hope that it is not another 42 years before we meet for the third time.

Amazing isn't it. Operate Potterbourne opposite Wadebridge for the whole weekend and not realise even though we chatted, I was opposite a member of WT.

Graham the only question that really threw us was the second question of round 1 where there were 33 answers. For those of you not there itwas name the 11 racers in Whacky races, thier cars and companions. I think we got 4 out of the possible 33.

It was a good show and i'm pleased to say that we were back home in east Norfolk before 8.00pm

Hi Alan

Nice to have met you - nice layout too, a credit to its young builder.

Perhaps we ought to develop some secret sign (a funny handshake perhaps, or rolling up a trouser leg and hopping on the spot whilst whistling the overture to The Magic Flute :) ) which will enable us to recognise other members of this 'club'.

The quiz was quite surreal at times but was very good fun (speaking as an obscure pedant - who hasn't drunk the prize yet :D ) and certainly tested us in all sorts of ways, including shouting at the question master from time to time.

Anyway, today's post brought an invitation to the West London G0G do on 28th October. See you all there.

The question which perplexed me -and I was the Quizmaster - was "when am I going to bop our Club member who wished to argue with the clarity of the question and the accuracy of the answers"? And was still doing so when we were packing up on Sunday....

Now for a fun moment - the show closed at 4pm and we were out of the school by 6pm..... which was the last layout to leave? No prizes, only a round of applause.

Ah Graham, what you forgot to say at the syart of the quiz is " the questionmaster is always right even when he is wrong and those who argue are docked 5 points"
