I honestly thought all the talk about driving down in an Allegro was a joke. Now that I see you actually did, it's even funnier!

If I recall correctly, you had to leave early as you weren't sure the lights were going to work when it got dark......

Ross I had one of those mate and the only thing that ever let it down was when the rear heated screen broke down and my hands got cold pushing it, no seriously I only had trouble with the gear stick the location pin broke so I had to hunt the gears as none had any relation to the gear knob guide it was mega reliable and i wish i still had it now as it had a zero road tax rating

OK OK, the Allegro was faultless. I was a little worried about actually getting to Telford but it was because of Ross's driving not the type of car.

At one point we were overtaken by a women pushing a pram.

Seriously though Ross has a VERY nice car and for the age of her was reliable and i must admitt very comfortable in the back. The condition of the 34 year old car is a credit to Ross , well done matey.

All joking apart, I think that's a really nice picture of what was obviously a top blokes day out.

The Allegro is in lovely condition, I always had a bit of a soft spot for them. My girlfriend's dad had one back in the day so I used to enjoy Allegro powered journeys

Mind you, I later inherited a third hand automatic Maestro from my sister which was a ghastly conveyance, although I don't think the detritus left over from babies and old banana skins wedged down the back seats helped very much

Oh yes, I've travelled in style through my life
