I had a great day at Telford yesterday and put some names to Avatars for the first time. I spent a lot of money on a sound Class 33 and those who were there when it got a good run out on Richard's superb Heyside will know exactly how much !

However after travelling all that way – thanks Martyn - I did forget to buy the soldering station that I had intended to buy so only a partial success!

My Dad ended up in Hospital Friday night, and so I had no chance to make Telford this year... same thing happened before the Trent Valley Show in June, although I managed to get to the last two hours of that - no chance this time.

I hope you all had a good 'un, although it seems I'm not the only one to miss out this year.

Just back from Telford.......

Firstly: Many thanks to G.0.G show hospitality, the management team, the stewards/floor-crew and also to the exhibition-centre staff.....a remarkably well-run show, making for a smashing show atmosphere.

Secondly: We really enjoyed showing Rhydwyn Fawr off to the visitors, it was a privilege to enjoy such a kind and appreciative audience........We made a lot of noise; but we steel-makers simply can`t be quiescent!

The only down-side, was that with our steel production schedule; we didn`t get hardly any chance to see the other exhibitor`s or trader`s stands.

I spent many an hour back in the mid 90's helping build the ground level track at Summerfields in particular the terminus - lots of barrows of earth moved.
Probably see some of my brickwork on the turntable well capping in the last pic

Had a great time, good in the good company of Rob (lancer) Phill Dyson who travelled down with me in the Allegro, which incidently never missed a beat and performed very well... The weather also was fantastic which always makes long journeys much more pleasant.. Saturday evening we met up with Phil (Brush type4) who was staying in the same hotel as the 3 of us. We had a couple of drinks at the Railwaymans Arms @ Bridgnorth Station then went for a curry at Dilraz, this combined with a trip to Richards straight after the show on Saturday to see Heyside running and 2 great days at the show made for a fantastic weekend....

Had a great couple of days. Was disappointed that the Blue diesel brigade were low in layout numbers, but that meant lots of activity for us on Bridge Norton.... Tried to keep the kids involved by forcing inviting them to do the driving...... they just kept coming back for more!

Anyway, great to see a good number of WT's, and thanks to all who supported us (and the WLA) with the raffle tickets purchases! Hope you all got some good bargains.... I ended up with, then without (!) 2 x ABC Motor Bogies which Rob's giving a trial - hope to see them running in Buccaneer soon! (Pics Please!)Also succumbed to a Heljan 33 to tinker with for a bit of a change.

Did anyone see the guy with the Gauge 1 Western he wanted doing up..... I'd like to contact him if at all possible.

Here's a few pics of BN in action..... sorry I didn't get time to attend the meets, or get around the rest of the show for that matter!

Once again, a great weekend was had. Nice to catch up with people at Saturday's WT meeting and a big thank you to Richard and Linda for their hospitality on Saturday evening's Heyside "party". Also a big thumbs-up to Mike for letting me play with his A3 on said layout!

Well for me it was a bit of a washout with missing Saturday (next year the A/L is going in early Jan), so I could only manage Sunday. I got what I wanted loads of Wheels, 10 Big Bigs a few other little things and 4 Skytrex wagons at £30 each!!!! bargain. Nice to see all of the old faces again with a few being a little more sober than last year. I seemed to wander through the isles this year with very little to interest me both in the layout dept and in the in the traders. We, Marsa and John(Dennis with the BLUE fire engine) and myself had a little maintenance session when we got back and did a little bit of running using the new main line and it was great to see 2 trains running at the same time even though one of the was a Tea Urn. Ho Hum back to it.
