Not really, I'm afraid. I still have to work on the traverser power connections (need some brass tube and rod to fit inside it), and also need to rig up some lights over it, as although it's now safe and warm (mostly) up the loft it's also in rather a dark part, under my HO layout. I have been running engines on it occasionally though, and hopefully some time soon it will host a certain new loco.....:) ;)

I'm looking forward to seeing the photos - don't keep us waiting Soo too long

cheers

Yes but it's blue and yellow. That makes it sort of alright, especially as I've seen them in the flesh

There may be a slight delay... Seems I dipped into my savings a bit more than I thought - that Dark Side is so powerful !! - so I need to engage in some Creative Accounting, as well as continue to work on my Cunning Plan....

Qyestion of our resident US nerd expert. What kind of loco is this one?

Alaskan Rail loco

Cheers,

Mark
SCARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That loco is nothing to be scared of... it's only a little one, after all...
Here's a bigger one, pulling some locos destined for Freightliner's famous London Underground Container Service...

When we used to drive past the Alaskan Rail main depot and yard in downtown Anchorage we'd get an amazing view of the sheds and yards from the flyover which came out of the back gate of Elmendorf AFB (you can see the back gate in the top left of the photo). The beasties looked mighty impressive from way up so imagine how imposing they were at trackside  . I found this out when I was able to get quite close to one at the terminus at Seward. Unfortunately I'd left me camera in the Hotel and by the time I returned it had tootled off back towards Anchorage :(
