Well, I managed to complete the build of one GW wagon in under a week after Peco and the local model shop took 3 weeks to deliver the kit.
I shipped it off to Graham to allow a proxy entry as his earlier offer, Thank you Graham, top bloke!!!
So we will see how I did when the judging happens on Saturday. But I do think this shows that it can be done if you put your mind to it... Now I need to complete some of the kits I already own!!!

Good news that you have succeeded with this entry, maybe you can write something about the work when the model stops being AWOL.

As a follow up to this comp, here are three shots of the Peco Wonderful Wagon that I finally produced on the day....
It ended up being close to a diagram Y18 wagon in BR days, vac fitted, 4-shoe morton brakes and instanter couplings.

I am impressed that you completed the model for the competition in view of the troubles that you described to me in the weeks before the show. The inclusion of "goods" inside of the covered wagon is a nice touch and one which is modelled all too infrequently.
Vacuum bag... black for the flexible, maybe with a 2" x 3" pink patch for the date details.

Well, Steve Flint did say it was very difficult to separate the entries as they were all so good, so you could take comfort from that. It's a good model.

It was exactly six weeks from hearing about the competition (and ordering the kit) to the day itself.
I spent a lot of time on painting the floor inside the wagon before I assembled the thing and I think it turned out well - although I was worried that the crate in there was a bit 'twee'.
