82G Templecombe Road Shed

Our first open day of the year yesterday was really successful, over 300 visitors through the door plus 76 members in attendance. We had lots of visiting engines on 82G for both running and photographs. Hopefully some of those will appear on here soon. Here's one of the resident locos, built and painted by me, but weathered by Neil Podbery. This is from Javelin kit, modified to accept Finney working inside valve gear. Fitted with an MX644C decoder from Youchoos, ADAMTC board, 17000mF capacitor and double dumbo speaker.Dean Goods 82G (2).jpeg

Look out for Warley club open days - it becomes a busy a shed scene. The models I see gracing the layout are mobile works of art - and often heavy to boot - where 2mm scale has the advantage!

Update on the new coaling facility. Most of the details now fitted and weathered. Just got to roll the boards over and solder in a few wires and it’s ready for display at Gaydon next weekend.
Hi Nigel

I usually ask newbies to post full size images but I’ll happily ask an old-timer to do the same! You don‘t save server space by posting thumbnails and frankly, it’s a PITA to have to keep opening them! You can edit your post by selecting the bottom left down arrow and selecting ‘Full’ for each image.
