A simple Gauge 1 garden line

Interior panels and bench parts glued into place today - this is a typical view of what can be seen

Was it worth it.JPG

It was worth it from the point of view that you can see something, but also explains why I didn't go to town on the bracing etc, it would be largely wasted effort from a viewing perspective. The nail holes are visible close up, but again worth only five minutes of time as when you step back they disappear, bit like the real thing then :)

Close Up.JPG

Time to order some corrugated iron for the roof now, my attempts to get sections of baked bean tins flattened out has been hugely unsuccessful .

Next up is to weather the front platform face and work out what to do about the post and wire fencing to run across the rear of the platform.

Well I like the texture of the planking and the nail holes add to the overall effect.

What about the platform surface? Presumably it's an ash fill with stuff gradually growing across it from the back?

Nameboard? Lamp? (working of course)

Joking apart that's a really lovely bit of work, well done.

I'm now suffering from hut envy (both concrete and wooden), signalbox envy and now halt envy - and tonight's swimming night - grrrr!

Thanks Graham :)

Thats the general idea, although the surface is currently painted DAS clay and is flush with the platform edging, I need to see if I can sort out a way to blend it all if I add another covering to the surface. There is a ridge along the platform to mark the edge of the 'once upon a time' border that ran across the back on one side, I might do a bit of indoor modelling type scenics on it and see how they survive outside
Nameboard? Lamp? (working of course)
Nameboard - I'd have to name it first :D Lamp is a definite though, the wiring for it and the switch are already in place, I just haven't decided exactly what to model yet...

Ta, I'm pleased with how its turned out. I wonder if it'll get covered with snow this winter, I hope so :)

I love this time of year, the plants appear to change almost daily. I'm currently going out every Sunday and chopping the top two leaves off any branches that are sprouting to try and get the bushes to fill out rather than head for the stars. As an example of whats going on, four weeks ago I posted this picture showing there was some sprouting going on

Lonicera sprouting.JPG

The same bit of line with the tallest of the sprouting bits left to grow, then about 10 days ago the top leaves were snipped off - this is the result

More 'scale' trees :) Dry weekends and wet weeks are currently fine by me :D

Been away for a couple of weeks with work, got back to find the garden in a bit of a mess - you must have had some right good growing weather :)

A good couple of hours this morning saw the line return to a less abandoned state

The new trees are coming along nicely, if someone had said to me I'd be trimming garden plants with a pair of scissors when I started three years ago I'd have laughed at them  Its also starting to fill out between the track and the fence along the right hand side the last few weeks, I might even have the small embankment I want there by the end of this year if the weather carries on like this. Time to get back on with the platform then...

Maybe you are a natural, yet as yet undiscovered Bonsai Master?

However I like the view in the last pic regardless!

Im watching this thread closely, as when my 7mm garden layout gets started, it will have a similar theme. (Thread to follow for my layout when something to show)
