I am a member of one of the groups Facebook and the US Govt are actively targeting. I REALLY want WT to stay facebook free. I understand it isn't my site, and they're not my rules, but a "welcoming" environment here for me means "Free from links to a place that openly allows calling me mentally ill".
Then don't click on any link. Others should be free to do as they choose.

Well said Terry, I wish I had never put that post up now, I didn’t realise Facebook was so evil . Next time I will offer any viewers free tin hats before opening any of my posts.;)

Martyn.
No need for tin hats Martyn, and I'm very pleased that you did post it.
It was quite apparent from your post that the link took you to a FB page, so folk can take a look or not as they choose.
Although if you are not A) signed up to FB and B) an accepted member of that FB group then you won't be able to see anything.
I much prefer a transparent link like that to one which gives no clue as to the destination.

I wouldn't seek to categorise people on here on the basis of whether they use that particular form of social media.
Lets face it, currently around 50% of this country do - so it kinda follows the other half do not.
Those who do not will have their reasons, and I imagine they are all quite valid - mine certainly is!

Personally, I'm grateful that Martyn did post the link as I find the subject most interesting and have applied to join that particular group. I must say though, that I find Facebook totally confusing as regards page layout, and don't go there very often. All that said however, I think that we should all respect each other's views and remain one big happy family. We all have a common bond in our love of model railways.

Not much risk of being called that on WT.
Unless you express an interest in Panniers - that might be pushing your luck.

Mind you I'm only two away from getting my free coffee :)

Hi Tony, apologies regarding the FB post, believe it or not I’m not very Tech Savvy  So when it came to putting the link up I didn’t realise that you guys would have to become members to view the post. Hence why I then took the time to post up the pictures as I thought you guys would enjoy the quality of the diorama.

All the best,

Martyn.

This is I believe a shot from 'Elmleigh' and there is a thread with many other shots of a similar nature over on RMweb if it's of any interest.

Bob
You’re quite right Bob and I’d forgotten having seen it over there!

For those that haven’t….

Thanks for the RM link, Dan - so pleased to be able to enjoy the views.
I'm still reeling from the first page or two - for some reason the chunky couplers become invisible, I really don't understand it.
