The reduction in the price of the 4mm version may well be a reaction to the forthcoming Bachmann model of exactly the same thing. I think I know which I'll plump for...

Mick - the LNER grain wagons have now moved down to the preservation site at Lincolnshire Wolds Railway, Ludborough.

I must confess to that being exactly my reaction on seeing it;) - but they do seem to have various items on special periodically.
For example you can currently get 2 of the 4mm versions for £38 and last year they had Midland tender engine loco kits on for £125

So while I wouldn't pay that for it I will look in regularly to see if I can pick one up a bit lot cheaper.

I think the £140 is the offer for TWO of these kits, if you look at the code next to it 'P - SW26' I'm assuming the P stands for Pair as the only other wagon code I can see this on is the 4mm version. Also the 7mm kit is listed on the offers page: http://www.modelrailways.tv/current-offers.html

I'd still get in touch with him first to check though!

Thanks for that - perhaps it's as well I blew the budget at Telford.........

I just happened upon Mercians site again (damned autofill....) and the "special offer" price for the 7mm version is now £79.00 inc wheels and couplings.
