It is Crown textured paint.
But also stippled, I never brush anything, so the stippling gets built up over several layers.

Additional progress over the weekend was on the depot building itself. I've always liked the Peco train shed and office buildings, they have a certain 70's feel to them. Unfortunately, or as it turned out fortunately, I picked up an early version of the train shed with card sides, but actually this meant the card can be dis'card'ed and replaced with plastikard sides.
The office building kit will be made up as a mess / shed office space, leaving two free for a separate future station project.

I cut various pieces of Evergreen strip and H section to make a shed frame, to which the plastikard siding will be stuck to. My mini disc sander came into use making sure everything had the same angle and length.
The plastic parts of the train shed contain all the useful bits, windows, doors, handrails, vents.
Reminds me a bit of my days in architectural modelmaking, so should be a pleasant task.

Thank you, more progress last night on the loco pits, which have now been cut in. The N gauge ones are not deep enough but who is going to notice?
I was using a section of spare crazy track to test the height, but won't be using it as it's too comical for me.

More work on the inspection pits sees them glued together and half the chairs cut off, being designed for N gauge. Obviously it's not deep enough, but I am going to compromise. I think the rest of the track inside the depot will be inset, meaning this will need to be partially inset. Sort of working it out in the fly at the moment. I may get more of this stuff and just infill the pit.

Tracklaying is well underway. All sections cut and in position ready to be glued down. Dropper wires done and dusted and can sit there and wait for the end of the competition. Next job drill the holes for the Seep motors and then glue the track to the board.

I built a vaguely similar structure for an H0e layout in 2012, maybe there are some useful ideas here.
It was one of those things I made up as I went along.
This is a very small layout and when the time came to put the cladding onto the building I decided it looked better left as a steel frame.

Thank you @RichardG , lovely modelling there. Is there a layout thread anywhere? I was wondering whether to leave it as it is in an earlier post above, but had decided to carry on. However this weekend reminded me that these projects take forever so maybe I should leave it as it is for now and push on with the ballasting, ground frame, static grass, point rodding... The list goes on and the deadline gets closer.
